FAQs About Our Mobile MRI and CT Scanner Systems

What is the quickest delivery time for mobile MRI or CT scanner systems if my in-house equipment unexpectedly goes down?

Mobile Interim Solutions can provide a system in as little as 24 hours, depending on our equipment availability. We have an extensive fleet of systems at locations across the country, which helps lower our response time for emergencies.

When should I reserve a mobile MRI or CT system during renovations or equipment upgrades?

You should request equipment at least three to four weeks ahead of your scheduled upgrade or renovation to ensure we have the exact system you need. Once the system has been reserved, it will be held for your rental. We take care of all the delivery details and set-up at your facility.

What is the typical time to setup mobile MRI or CT scanners upon arrival?

For mobile MRI or CT scanner systems, setup time typically only takes from one to five hours, depending on the system type. We routinely schedule our units to arrive early enough to be inspected by factory engineers.

How long can mobile MRI or CT scanner systems be rented from Mobile Interim Solutions?

From one week to two years. Mobile Interim Solutions rents systems on a weekly, monthly or yearly basis, always with an option to extend the length of the contract. Partial months are pro rated on a daily rate.

Is there a difference between a mobile system and a fixed site scanner?

No. A mobile system has an MRI or CT imager that has been specially engineered to withstand travel on the road. It has then been integrated into a complete diagnostic suite built inside a trailer. A mobile system has the same performance as a fixed site system, giving your referring physicians and patients high quality diagnostic images. Mobile Interim Solutions works hard to ensure that its mobile MRI and CT systems have the most current software levels available.

What type of site preparation is needed for mobile MRI or CT scanners?

Mobile MRI or CT scanner systems should be placed on a level paved surface (preferably concrete) with a suitable plug and power. Ask your rental provider for a system site guide that lists the specific requirements for the mobile system. If your facility has a site that has not been used for a long time, be sure to have it checked again for function and weatherproofing. If you are unsure of how to proceed, ask us. We can provide or recommend resources to help you plan for a proper site.

What if my site does not have a power source for the mobile MRI or CT scanners?

Stand alone diesel-powered generators can be rented to provide power at a site if there is no receptacle. We can provide you with a list of generator services in your area.

Although power can also be supplied by the on-board generator on a mobile unit, it is often not recommended to use this source for patient scanning. On-board generators are meant to provide power to the coach climate-control system during transport and emergency power to the trailer if there is a power loss at the site.
